These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website located at guitarchords.net and www.guitarchords.net (the “Site”), operated by GuitarChords.net (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. The Site

The Site provides guitar chord charts and related informational materials free of charge. The Site is a hobby project. We do not offer user accounts or paid subscriptions.

2. License and Permitted Use

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Site for your personal, non-commercial use, including to view and print pages for your own practice. You may not copy, scrape, crawl, or harvest the Site in a manner that burdens or interferes with the Site; impersonate GuitarChords.net; or represent our materials as the official documentation of another person or product.

3. Intellectual Property

Chord fingerings and fret numbers are facts. The selection, arrangement, labels, text, and presentation of materials on the Site are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license above, no right or license is granted. Copyright complaints may be sent to hello@guitarchords.net.

4. No Professional Advice

Materials on the Site are provided for general informational and educational purposes only. They are not professional music instruction, medical advice, or any other professional advice. Chord shapes are selected using theory checks. That is not a warranty that any shape is the only correct fingering or that it will fit every instrument or player.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE AND ALL MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. YOUR USE OF THE SITE, INCLUDING ANY PRINTING, IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless GuitarChords.net and its operators from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Site or your violation of these Terms.

You agree not to use the Site to transmit malware or harmful code; to attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or related systems; to interfere with or disrupt the Site; or to harvest email addresses or other information for spam or other unsolicited communications.

Our collection and use of information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

10. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, United States of America, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. You agree that the exclusive venue for any dispute arising out of or relating to the Site or these Terms shall be the state or federal courts serving Jefferson County, Idaho, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

11. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site and supersede prior agreements regarding the same subject matter. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top of this page will be revised when we do. Your continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
